Dr Marc Auriol Amalaman est géographe physicien, spécialiste en hydroclimatologie, enseignant-chercheur à l’Université Peleforo Gon Coulibaly (UPGC) en Côte d’Ivoire. Titulaire d’un doctorat en géographie physique obtenu à l’Université Alassane Ouattara (Bouaké), ses travaux portent sur la variabilité hydroclimatique régionale, la gestion intégrée des ressources en eau, et les dynamiques environnementales en Afrique subsaharienne.
Son expertise couvre l’analyse des séries temporelles hydrologiques, la cartographie environnementale, le traitement des données spatiales et l’étude des risques liés aux feux de végétation et à la pénurie d’eau. Il mobilise des outils avancés tels que QGIS, ArcGIS, R, Magrit, Hyfran Plus et KoBoCollect pour ses recherches et ses missions de terrain.
Dr Amalaman a mené plusieurs stages et séjours scientifiques internationaux, notamment au laboratoire M2C de l’Université de Rouen-Normandie (France), à l’ISTOM (Angers), et à la NUST (Islamabad, Pakistan). Il est lauréat de plusieurs bourses prestigieuses, dont celles du SCAC (2020 et 2024), du programme NIPIS, et de l’école d’été AfroMapR du CIST.
Consultant cartographe et géographe pour des projets liés à la restauration forestière, à la riziculture et à l’eau potable, il collabore régulièrement avec des cabinets, des institutions publiques et des réseaux scientifiques internationaux. Il est membre actif de l’AIC, de l’EGU, du réseau FRIEND-AOC et de l’association pS-Eau Côte d’Ivoire.
Ses publications scientifiques abordent les impacts du changement climatique sur les eaux de surface, la dynamique des feux saisonniers, et l’évolution de l’occupation du sol. Il intervient également comme formateur et rapporteur dans des colloques internationaux sur la climatologie, l’hydrologie et la sécurité environnementale.
