An industrial QHSE and sustainability engineer, Paul Henri Kouakou has headed the Quality, Sustainable Development and CSR Department of the Port Autonome de San Pedro since August 2025. There, he defines quality, safety and environmental policy, leads ISO compliance efforts and supports port operators in a mature CSR approach.
From September 2022 to July 2025, he served as Head of the QSE Department of the Port Autonome de San Pedro, where he brought the port into compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 and established the environmental and social management framework arising from the strategic environmental and social study. His work was recognized with the CNPS Best CSST Award in 2025.
Previously, he was HSE Manager at CMR Granit SA (Colas CI) from July 2020 to August 2022, QHSE Manager at Flash Intervention from August 2019 to July 2020, where he led the compliance process for ISO 18788:2015, then Safety Officer at the Tongon gold mine (Barrick Gold) from January 2018, where he prepared compliance with ISO 45001:2018 and trained staff in fire safety and first aid.
He began his career as an HSE Technician at PETROCI Pipeline Hydrocarbure from July 2013 to December 2017, where he implemented the HSE management system for the PETROCI Pipeline Yamoussoukro project and ensured compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
He holds an industrial engineering degree in QHSE and sustainability, a BTS in Fire Safety and Prevention (IRSPE/KIBIO, 2004-2006) and a baccalauréat (series D) from Lycée Nangui Abrogoua. He also completed NEBOSH IGC 1 and 2, PMP, ISO 9001/14001/45001 internal auditor training, and training in environmental and social safeguarding under BM and BAD standards.
He is Vice-President and Board Member of Groupe Pro-QHSE Côte d’Ivoire and a member of the alumni group of the KIBIO Fire Safety and Risk Prevention program.
