Virgil Francis DILOHO THIO

Virgil Francis Diloho Thio serves as a Dynamic Positioning Officer (DPO) aboard offshore supply vessels (PSV and AHTS), responsible for navigational watchkeeping, dynamic positioning of the vessel during offshore operations, stability and ballast management, and oversight of deck and safety equipment.

At-sea experience includes assignments as second officer, junior then confirmed Dynamic Positioning Officer, aboard Bourbon Liberty 320, Bourbon Horus, Bourbon Diamond, Bourbon Liberty 212 and Bourbon Ruby, for operator Bourbon Offshore, up to 2025.

Before these roles, Virgil Francis Diloho Thio sailed as able seaman, then bosun, then second officer, aboard several offshore supply vessels of the Tidewater Marine fleet (Troms Hera, Goldblatt Tide, J Keith Lousteau, Foster Tide, J Hugh Rhoff Jr, Desoto Tide, Halat Tide, Fanning Tide, Trounson Tide, Saavedra Tide).

Training includes a diploma of master on a seagoing ship of 3,000 gross tonnage or more from the Regional Academy of Maritime Sciences and Technologies (2024-2025), a diploma of officer in charge of a navigational watch on ships of 500 gross tonnage or more from the same academy (2011-2014), the dynamic positioning simulator and induction courses completed at the Arab Academy for Science, Technonoly & Maritime Transport in 2022, and a scientific baccalaureate, series D, obtained at Classical High School of Abidjan in 2011.
